DIRTY DOZEN NUMBER FOR FEBRUARY IS FOUR.

4

Go find your Number 4 and get it done before the end of this month.

I have to make my Number 4 the quilt I’m working on which several named Wilderness Trail! Ha!! Because I know you’re waiting on the pattern – the one we’re all going to put our own spin on. Here are my first 3 blocks:

This Country Threads pattern was called Touch of Spring and is written as cutting each strip as 8” and then sewn together. I think we made them all a different color at one time. So the pattern can be rewritten using any method you like. More ways to make it different! (I wonder if it was designed for a layer cake.)

I will work on getting that pattern ready to go and you can order it before my quilt is finished if you like. In fact, I got Vicki’s order yesterday – what a trusting soul! Pattern will be $5 and SASE, only one stamp needed.

Windy and cold today. Did you see Caitlin Clark during the NBA pregame? Makes me excited for the WNBA season.

Still no Tim. My worry is eased by Barney who graciously came into the quilt shop with me this afternoon!

I’m going to keep him in here tonight.

Okay – we all should be working on Number 4!

Tomorrow I’ll write up Brenda’s story – if anybody could use a card right now, it would be her. Here’s the baby goat she saved.

I’m loving the SAL Blocks. What size do they finish up at. I’m going to send my
Envelope so I can participate in the SAL…

I may reply twice because yesterday I replied two different times and they never made it to the Blog. Weird.
Jan in AZ. I love that Squeak, Buddy, and I are inspirations:) With this cold weather, I don’t feel very inspirational!! i love what you did with those bird houses on all of the quilts. Birds are some of our favortes. We have a female Pileated that comes every morning about 8 AM to our suet feeder. She is beautiful. I love all of the quilts the last few days. I sent a Yellow Brick Road photo–very scrappy–we’ll see if it gets to Mary.
I am worried about Tim, too. We have two strays that come pretty regularly, but just saw one of them yesterday for the first time. He is fat so we think he has a home and just drops in for a snack. I also loved the small Bills block in the Chiefs quilt–very smart, Barbara. I think my dad was the original Bills fan. The plastic adventure was something, Mary. Child and Adult proof! In the 20″s this week–better than MINUS.

I really like Mary H’s quilt with the pretty print squares and the pieced blocks in just the right colors. A good way to use the large scale print.

Nice to see that Barney has learned to trust you, Mary E. And fingers crossed that Tim is somewhere safe and warm.

We’ve had really cold weather (for us and our heaters and insulation) here in coastal NC. Down into the teens overnight, 4” of snow – the first significant snowfall since 1989 – below freezing all day. My kitty has decided that he now likes the felted wool cat nest that he’s ignored for years.

Oh Barney! So photogenic! Enjoy your overnight in the sewing room. I know I would!

Loved the pics of everything. I got binding on a quilt that I recently quilted yesterday. Now I have 4 quilts that need binding hand-stitched down. Sigh

I too, am interested in the quilt that Barney is sitting on. Can we see a better picture of it?
    Hopefully Tim is doing ok.

  6. Diana in Des Moines

Payers that Tim is with his other family.
Barney looks good . And the quilt that he’s laying on – what pattern is that?
I love goats. I follow a homesteader on Facebook. She takes us along every morning to feed the chicks, goats, pigs and rabbits. I live vicariously through her. I even bought an electric pressure canner, so started playing with that this weekend. Chicken broth and baked beans. Can’t wait to get my garden going. Might even start some seed this week! I can dream, right?
50 degrees on Thursday! I see steaks on the grill!

That goat if adorable! We had goats when our kids were home. It was so fun. The babies are so playful and we had so much fun just watching their antics.
All the pictures are great. Excited to get started on my #4!
I will send a card to Brenda when we get her address.
    Warmer weather this week. Yay!

I have an orange cat that my ring camera picks up quite often at 2 or 3 am walking thru my front yard……. it is frigid out there — he looks well fed but all I can think of is how is he out in this cold???? I am sure hoping he has a warm place he can snuggle into.

    Keep warm !

  9. Kelli in N.E. Ohio

What a handsome guy Barney is! Glad he came calling to comfort you while waiting for Tim.

    Stay warm and safe everyone!

  10. Jeanie S, Central IL

Barney is so cute and cuddly. I bet he liked hanging out with you in the shop.
Mary, I like your first three blocks and the readers projects, also.
    Stay Warm, 🥰
