Today would be Telly’s 13th birthday if she were alive. We lost her last Friday and I’m just now feeling like I can tell you. Every day we’re learning how to adjust our life without her – every night I checked Rick’s bedroom to make sure she was there.
Twelve years ago when we were installing the fence one of the employees, Armando, said to me several times – “my dog would love to live here”. Seems his young labradoodle named Telly would jump their 4’ fence to follow the kids to the park, to school, to a friend’s house. You get the idea. I told Armando repeatedly that I couldn’t take everybody’s dog just because I had a fenced yard in the country. She wasn’t even fixed! This went on for several weeks until I gave in – and Telly moved to the country.
She’s seen several other companion dogs arrive and die too young – Telly was always kind to them and even tho this last day was inevitable, when it comes you’re never ready. She’d had some issues lately and I prayed for years that she’d die in her sleep which didn’t happen. Our vet had to be called and it wasn’t a calm, gentle ending that I would have preferred.

Telly through the years

Remembering Telly

What a nice tribute to her. Am sure you are missing her every day
Mary, I am so sorry to hear your sweet Telly has crossed the bridge. She was living her best life in the country and I’m sure she loved it. Our Bud (12 year old Basset Hound) crossed on Feb 27 and it has left a big hole in our hearts. He was a very social boy and I’d like to think he was there to meet Telly and will look after her. Sending prayers of comfort to you and Rick. 🙏🙏🙏
Barbara – we are still looking for Telly in her favorite places – yes, she was getting old and was failing but it was still so very hard.
Mary, I’m SO sorry for your loss!
Oh Mary, I am so sorry for your loss of Telly. Her presence will live in your heart and mind forever. I’m sure she’s exploring the groves and fields of heaven with all of the the other furry family members who were so fortunate to live in your home through the years. There was no doubt quite a crew who met her at Rainbow Bridge!
we love our critters with our whole hearts. Telly received much love. Sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
What a wonderful life you gave her, God bless and hold you close.
So sorry to hear this news! I enjoyed all of Telly’s adventures & all of her pictures. So hard to lose our furr babies…..sending hugs & love to you & Rick! She was very lucky to have found you…..
Oh Mary,
I’m just getting around to reading the blog – I’m a couple of days behind. I was so surprised to read that Telly crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I’m so very, very sorry. Pets burrow deep within our hearts and it’s so very hard to let them go. Thinking of you tonight.
PS It’s been a rough week in my ‘family’ for pets – my best friend lost her beloved 20-year old tortoiseshell cat, Cleocatra (from Cleopatra) on Tuesday. Cleo was the favorite cat of Stacy’s beloved husband who she lost 2 years ago. Thus, it was so hard to let Cleo go because it felt like one of the last ties to her husband.
On the same day, my son lost his beloved black dog, Demon. She was the daughter of his favorite dog, Daisy. Man, it’s SO HARD.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Blessings
I am so sorry to hear about Telly. Even though you had told us she was failing, it is still difficult to hear. She was with you when I found Country Threads, and I always thought she was a precious soul. My heart aches for you and Rick.
I remember you telling us the Armando and Telly story. I am sure Armando loved Telly but gave her to you, so she would have a lovely life in the country.
Take Care, 🥰
Your post yesterday brought me to tears and I couldn’t comment then. Hard to even today but I am SO sorry for your loss. I think that’s the worst part of having pets..the losing them. I had a beautiful cat (Fang) that lived to be nearly 19 and when I had to have him put to sleep, I swore I’d never have another. I cried for days (and still do when I run across his picture). I lasted 2 years and went to the shelter ‘just to look’ but came home with my sweet girl. I’m 70 so she’ll definitely be my last..I wouldn’t want her to outlive me as you never know what’ll happen to them. Always makes me sad to see ‘seniors’ at the shelter.
Mary, I just got home from from a trip downstate and I read the sad news about Telly. My condolences to you and Rick. This is very heartbreaking news. Hugs and prayers for you both. Janice in Traverse City Area
I saw Telly in one of your posts a couple of weeks ago and wondered how she was doing. I know how hard it is to lose a member of your family. My dog was 14 last June when she crossed the bridge, I miss her every day.
RIP 🌈TELLY, I recall when u got her, Armando bringing her to live in the country,
I pray you and Rick, get some comfort knowing we all know how much ❤️you give to ALL the pets that come to live in your country HOME🙏🏼
Oh Mary and Rick I’m so sorry for the loss of. I have so many fond memories of her passed two days before her 13th birthday as well. She had the best life ever, and there is never enough time with our babies. Take care and know I’m thinking of you all there was.
I’m deeply sorry for you fur baby loss, they are so special to us .
Such a sweet girl. My heart goes out to you. You have to know that she’s looking down and thanking you for the wonderful years she had with you and Rick.
Mary,
I’m sorry to read the news about Telly. I am sending my deepest condolences to you and Rick on such a profound loss. The picture tribute of her life with you on the farm was beautiful. Thanks for sharing Telly with all of us. I feel like I knew her and am all choked up and teary eyed to think of her not being with all of you that loved her most.
I’m so sorry about Telly. It’s never easy to lose our animal companions.
We, as your blog readers, have grown to love Telly and all your animals. Chickens, cats, dogs!! We will miss her also. I like your idea of becoming a senior dog foster parent. A great way to love on pets til the very end. God bless you and Rick.
So sorry to hear about Telly. They bring us so much joys that it’s so very hard to lose them!
Mary,
I am so sorry for your loss. These fur babies give us so much love. You were intended to be her humans. Sending hugs. I have enjoyed the adventures and stories you shared about her.
Sending you my deepest sympathies on the loss of your Telly. She brought you and your followers so much joy.
I’m so sorry … losing a pet is extremely difficult, they really do become our family and best pals.
I always enjoyed reading about the adventures of Telly & Hazel, especially those late night ones, ha!! I hope Hazel is doing okay. I had 2 different sets of sibling kitties through the years, and when the first one died it was extremely hard on the one who was left behind.
I’ll be thinking of all of ALL of you …
Mary & Rick, so very sorry for your loss of Tilly. What a wonderful life she had on the farm! Like you I will always have a senior dog in my life. My last 3 rescues have been seniors. I also know that if something happens to me that I have 2 grown children who will give my fur baby a wonderful home! Love the pictures of sweet Tilly that you shared! I firmly believe that our fur babies make us kinder, better people! Hugs to you & Rick & Hazel
I’m so sorry. Hugs & prayers. Yes we never have enough time with our fur babies.
We have been without electricity since Tuesday morning, praying it comes on soon.
Linda
I’m so sorry for your loss of Telly. Ive enjoyed reading about your dogs and know they are muched loved by you. I know the heartbreak of losing our own beloved dogs from the past and feel your sadness. We are cherishing our last dog that we will have. Dixie is 14 and is showing her age now but still enjoying life. This sweet dog of ours has enriched our lives so much over the years and hope we have more quality time with her.
I’m so sorry to hear about Telly. Pet buddies give so much richness to life, their passing leaves a hole. Telly trotted across the rainbow bridge, flag of a tail waving. I like your picture of Fay greeting her. Blessings.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Her pictures show you were her happiness. Hugs ❤️
Telly was a beautiful girl. Thank you for giving her a remarkable life and for loving her like you did.
Someone once told me that animals don’t go to heaven because only people have souls. I never liked that person after that. If animals don’t go to heaven, I don’t want to go. Someone else said helping an animal cross over is the most loving thing you can do when it’s their time. I like that person.
Linda – maybe that person was me because I’ve said it over and over to those people who “just can’t do it” – euthanize their beloved pet. They are some of the most selfish people alive – they’d rather let their pet suffer and die inch by inch because it’s painful for THEM – well, it was painful but the only thing I might regret is waiting too long to let Telly go. Of course dogs are in Heaven because Heaven is everything we ever want it to be and I want to see my dogs!
so sorry for y0ur sadness Unfortunately it is not difficult for so many of us to be able the empathize with your loss.
Hi Mary
I’m so so sorry for your loss of Telly. Praying God gives you and Rick peace during this sad time.
She was so blessed to have been a part of your family.
May the peace of God be with you🙏🏻❤️
Bea knight
Oh Mary, my heart breaks for you, Rick, and poor Hazel. They were such good buddies, I’m sure Hazel is feeling that something isn’t quite right too. I cried as I looked at your wonderful pictures of Telly. What wonderful memories you have of her through those years. Please know we are all grieving for you. You certainly gave her lots of love and care. Maybe she has found my dear Abby to play with in doggy heaven. Sending hugs to you, Jeanne in Co.
Jeanne – like all of us who feel connected even tho we’ve never met in person, our dogs who are now in Heaven surely must feel as if their friends are waiting to welcome them. It’s such a comforting thought, isn’t it?
So sorry, Mary. They do become a part of us. So glad you have the others to love. Your pictures of her are so good!
HUGS to you. <3
I remember the pictures of Rick sharing a cheese treat with the dogs…Telly always first! I hope special memories of her will, in tine, ease the pain of missing her.
I’m so sorry to hear about Telly. I know there is a hole in your hearts. She had so much love to give and you and Rick gave so much love back. What a wonderful tribute to her. Hugs!
Tearing up. I am so sorry Mary. Those pictures do say a thousand words. The loss is a big one. ❤️
Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. Our pets are so special; it hurts so much when we lose them.
May Telly rest in peace. Such a sweet doggie. I am feeling your deep loss tonight and sending you my hugs & Love.
I am sad and sorry for your loss. We will miss seeing her living the good life on the farm. Such a sweet girl. Sending my condolences and hugs.

Hugs for you Mary and Rick…
So sorry for your loss.
Dear Mary, shedding tears for your loss. What a lovely tribute to your sweet companion. Judy in MD
Beautiful pictures Mary. She was a lucky girl to have you and Rick and the farm. But not as lucky as you and Rick were to have her. It hurts to the core of our soul when we lose our fur babies. What more can I say except I’m sorry and I’m sending you hugs.
Love, Jo in Michigan
What more can be said…..I am also so sorry for your loss. I know how you love all your fur babies.
So very sorry for your loss Mary.
Oh Mary, I’m just now reading about Telly. So sorry for your loss. You were lucky to have each other. I love how you helped pick him up to get in your car & golf cart. How sweet.
I am so, so sorry. You gave him a good life but it is so hard to give them up. I am sad and sorry.
So sorry to hear about Telly. You have many great memories to remember her by.
Mary I am so sorry that Telly had to leave you. They leave a hole in our heart for sure. She had a wonderful life and the photo tribute to her was precious. Thinking of you, Rick and Hazel in the days ahead.
So sorry for your loss
I am heartbroken about Telly. She was the sweetest, gentlest dog and I will miss seeing her at your farm. My heart breaks for you Mary. So many losses in a month’s time – first Angel, then Emmett last week and now Telly. They will all be waiting for us at Rainbow Bridge.
Gloria – yes, too many recent losses. And to think this is her birthday.
So very sorry for your lose. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking. May you be comforted with happy memories.
I am so sorry for your, Rick and Hazel’s loss of Telly. It’s always so hard to lose a beloved pet. She led her best life. Telly will be missed on the blog too.
Oh Mary I am so so sorry for your loss! When I read the header I thought wait a minute, isn’t Telly still alive? And then I read on. Of course we all feel like we know her too from reading about her and seeing pictures. She was loved.
So very sorry!
So sorry to hear about Telly. You gave her the best home. God bless you for what you have done for all your animals. Hugs!
Mary and Rick I’m so sorry that you lost Telly. It is never easy but you both gave her the best life on the farm where she could run freely. She watched over the other farm animals. And was Hazels sidekick. Go have some ice tea and give Telly a toast from all of us.
I am crying for Telly, you, and Rick. I loved Telly, I was always happy to see her, Al loved her too she reminded him of his Katie Belle. I’m sure he was at the Bridge to greet her.
It is so hard to lose them. My love to all of you❤️
Ginny – oh, I hope Al sees Telly coming!!!
I am crying for Telly, you, and Rick. I loved Telly, I was always happy to see her, Al loved her too she reminded him of his Katie Belle. I’m sure he was at the Bridge to greet her.
It is so hard to lose them. My love to all of you❤️
I feel like I’ve gotten to know your pet babies through this blog. My heart is breaking. We know Telly had the best life possible, thanks to you.
I am so sorry to hear about Telly. Sending my condolences.
Oh Mary, such a sad entry. Our pets are our children, we open our hearts to them and never want to let them go. I’m so sorry sadness has come to your farm again.
What a great kindness to Telly it was, that you welcomed her into your life. She was frisky, muddy, funny, lovable, adventurous… everything you’d want a dog to have opportunity to be. My heart hurts for you and your husband. He must be missing her so much, too.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss.
I’m so sorry to hear about your Telly. I’m thinking of you.
What a wonderful dog she was! She knew her home was with you.our dogs own such a huge part of our hearts and give us unconditional love. Thinking of you all during this hard time- what special memories you must have. Hugs!
I’m so sorry.
So sorry for your loss. Telly had a good home with you for many years.
Dear Mary, l am so sorry about Telly, thank you for giving her a good home, lots of love and doggy friends. RIP Telly, take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy

Launa
Condolences Mary, thinking of you at this very sad time
What a loss! Our hearts and thoughts are with you and Rick as you adjust to life without Telly.
I am so so sorry. I immediately went to the Comments to tell you and Rick that. There are 158 comments from your readers! All are expressing their sympathy. Telly was so loved by all of us and you and Rick are too.
So sorry Mary! Such a special dog. And, no we never want to miss them! 💕💕
Oh Mary, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Telly. Pets are family members and their loss is difficult, but I believe we are reunited with all the creatures we have loved, when we also cross that rainbow bridge. Prayers for healing for yours and Rick’s hearts.
I lost my best friend, Jasper, last week. He was a couple months shy of 17. I know what you’re feeling. I keep looking at the front door expecting to see him there. Thinking of you.
Jill – I feel for you, too, because if you’ve lived with Jasper for 17 years, how can life resume without a huge adjustment? Maybe Atelly and Jasper will meet up.
I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose our beloved pets, but they give us so much love and joy while we have them. Take care and God bless.
My heart aches for your loss of Telly. I always looked forward to seeing pictures of her. She seemed to be a loving girl with a gentle and generous spirit which she readily shared. She had a beautiful life with you and Rick on the farm and will be dearly missed. She knew she was loved.
We all knew this day was coming and yet we weren’t ready.
so sad to know we won’t be seeing Telly anymore.
deepest sympathies.
Oh Mary, I am so sorry for your loss: I know you and Rick loved Telly very much. You gave her the best home a dog could wish for, as I am sure Armando would confirm.: after all he trusted you with her heart. Give Hazel an extra hug tonight, she will be grieving to. And trust that Telly will be playing with Faye, just across the rainbow bridge.
Fiona – oh, how do you remember Faye??? She died in May 2016! I have a favorite picture of Telly and Faye and if I come across it, I’m going to post it. Thanks so much for remembering.
Who could forget Faye? I’d love to see the photo if you find it.
Oh Mary!! My heart was very saddened when l read about the loss of your beloved Telly. I hope your grief lessens soon and gives way to only the many, many, happy memories you must have in your heart and mind. I hope you share those memories with us as you are able. Take care!!
May Telly play over the rainbow. It is always very hard to lose a pet. I always am looking for them in the many places in the house that they frequented.
Such sad sad news. Seeing Telly in the photos you shared with us stitched her into our hearts too. I’m very sorry for your loss. I choose to imagine that our next lives will be in a happy pet park where all the people and their pets reunite and share more special times together. Hugs.
So sorry to here you lost one of your fur babies ♥️
My stomach sank when I saw her name. I am so very sorry. Helping your baby cross the bridge is one of the hardest things to ever do. My heart goes out to you,,
I’m so sorry for your loss, it is so hard to lose the furry babies!! Sending positive vibes!!
We lost our fourteen years old dog in December. We prayed that Cooper would die in his sleep but that didn’t happen for us either. I will say Cooper went very easily and acted like he was ready. I still look for him at times. So sorry for your lose. You said you couldn’t talk about it. I have yet to say anything on social media.
Carol – I really had to tell you what happened to Telly who suddenly wasn’t around!I have several thousand blog readers who would be inquiring.
Mary I am sorry for your loss. It is so hard when one of our fur babies.
Mary … I’m so very sorry you had to let Telly go! Thank you for taking the time to share so many pictures of her time on the farm. She really looked like the sweetest dog. My best to you, Rick, Hazel and all of Telly’s family.
So saddened to hear of Telly’s passing. She was a lovely gentle dog and your beautiful pictures certainly did her justice. I think we are all similar in the wishing our beloved dogs would die in their sleep when the time comes. I’ve prayed for that at the end of so many pets lives, dogs and cats. But it never seems to happen. Our Sonny at 11 has lost so much energy, takes heart pills, and I’m hearing coughing in the night that makes me afraid. So many of us animal lovers feel your sadness.
Pat – I’m sorry to hear Sonny is showing signs of aging. He is such a handsome guy. I hope he is able to die in his sleep when the time comes – which is what we all hope for even for ourselves.
Oh Mary, I am so very sorry. These times are so very hard! I can’t help but shed tears on your behalf. Telly was a sweet dog with a special place on your farm. I know you and Rick will miss her for a long, long time. RIP sweet Telly ❤️
Bonnie
Oh, Mary, I just hate to read this. What a pretty dog, I’ve enjoyed seeing, and reading about Telly. I’m so sorry
Mary, my heart goes out to you. Having lost 3 of our dogs in the last couple years and a fourth getting so old now too, it’s very hard to get through it all. We do what we have to when it’s time, but the grief doesn’t go away. Keep loving thoughts of Telly in your mind and heart, and know he had a wonderful life. Hug your other babies, they will miss him too,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I know Telly loved being with you on the farm. She will forever be in your heart and she will be waiting for you when you arrive in heaven. Because we all know that ALL dogs go to heaven!
It was heartbreaking to read this. I’m so sorry for your loss. How very lucky you were to have Telly in your life. Prayers to you and Rick.
I’m so sorry for your loss..🐾
I’m so sorry for your loss of Telly. Hugs to you and Rick!
Mary and Rick, I am so sorry for your loss of Telly. They fill up our hearts with love and fun. I hope your memories will help heal the hole that is left from her crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs.
When I saw her name, I knew. I’m so sorry.
Very sad today about Telly, I know you are hurting very deeply. It is hard to lose someone so close to us.
There’s an old German saying…”it’s the pain of the first kiss, knowing there will be a last one”!
So sorry for your lost. Telly was a beautiful girl, inside and out.
Bobby in Md.
Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Telly. She looks like a wonderful dog and I know she had a great life with you and Rick on your beautiful farm. You were all lucky to have found each other. After almost 3 years there are still times when we feel that our dog should be there and sometimes start to look for him. It’s a big loss! My sincere sympathies…
God Bless Tilly. 🐕🐾🐕🐾🐕🐾🐕

Rhoda- thank you and yes, I pour over those newspaper articles when they come!!

Mary and Rick my deepest sympathy on the loss of you dear Telly.
May the many wonderful memories you have in your hearts of dear Telly bring some comfort to Rick and you. She was so blessed to have been a member of your family who brought you love.
Rest well good and faithful servant.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I always say I’m done with cats after one passes, but I always rescue another. I will be the old cat lady with 20 cats! Hugs
Diana – and if you are that old lady with a bunch of cats, I know we’ll be friends! Birds of a feather, and all that, you know!
Your blog today brings tears to my eyes with memories of our precious dogs that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I’m so sorry for your loss because it is truly like losing a family member. Thank you for sharing the pictures of Telly through the years, she was a wonderful companion for you and your husband. May all the memories of Telly help you through your grief.
So sorry for your loss. It’s never easy as our pets are so much a part of our family. It took a long time for all of us to get over the loss of our Banshee when he crossed over the rainbow bridge. Even our neighbours still talk about what a wonderful and one of a kind dog he was. It’s been 5 years. Don’t know if you’ll remember but I sent you a picture of Banshee with our polish hen sitting on his back. 💕
Teresa – oh my gosh, I DO remember that picture! With the hen! Haha!
I’m so very sorry. It is the hardest thing in life to make this decision. The sadness is overwhelming. You made his life wonderful! ❤️
I’m so sorry to hear about Telly. She had a wonderful life with you and Rick.
Telly was indeed one lucky dog. She was lucky to have Armando who new Telly needed a new home. She was lucky that you changed your mind and took her in. She was lucky to have many dog friends. She was lucky to have a long, adventurous life. She was lucky to have your’s and Rick’s love.
It doesn’t matter how many times you go through it,losing a pet(family member) Is terribly hard. The photos of Telly in her younger years until now are precious. Sending Hugs from MN💗 Telly is running with all her pals that went before to the Rainbow Bridge!
I’m so sorry for your loss. This has brought tears to my eyes because I too lost my baby last fall. Like you said you’re never ready. I’m in a difficult spot because I would love to have another dog but because of my age,71, not sure if I should. I have a 10yr.old Cairn mix and she too seems depressed. Time will tell. Again, I will say I’m so sorry and will miss seeing her pictures. Such a pretty gal.
Sandy – here’s what I’m going to do (because I’ll always need a dog). I’m going to be 76 and the next time I adopt/rescue a dog, it will be a senior dog who needs to live out their life, however short, in love and comfort. I actually want to be a senior foster home so that if I died while keeping a dog, the rescue would take the dog in. No more wild terriers for this old lady!
Mary, I am so saddened to hear are of your beloved Telly passing away. It’s so hard to say goodbye to a part of your family that’s been greatly loved for many years. Blessings to you all throughout your grieving.
So very sorry for your loss! Wonderful pictures of Telly! She had a wonderful life growing up on the farm with you and Rick and all your precious critters! No matter how long we have them it’s truly never long enough!
Oh Mary. So sorry for your loss of Telly. It’s inevitable but as you said we’re never prepared for the loss of our beloved animals. She’s over the rainbow healthy as can be with all your other pets that went before her. Hugs to you & Rick. Thanks for sharing the Telly photo tribute with us! 💔🐾

Mary, my heart is breaking for you and Rick. I pray that the happy and loving memories of Telly soon come flooding in to replace your present heart ache.
Ok, I am crying along with everyone else. Telly has been such a big part of your lives and the blog ! She was such a sweet, kind, beautiful dog. May she enjoy everyone who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Bless you, Telly.
A dog’s life is short, profound, in the moment and full of unconditional love. That’s why we love them so much and find it so hard to let them go. attributed to Jane Tyska
So very sad to lose one of our ‘family’!
Oh Mary my heart is breaking for you & Rick. Prayers for you both & peace.
So sorry for your loss, dogs are wonderful companions.
my heart is breaking been there so many times, prayers for you and Telly. a sweet girl.
So sorry to hear of Telly’s passing – terribly missed, but never forgotten. Jan
Prayers for you and your family (people and animals). It is never easy to watch someone go over the Rainbow Bridge.
Oh Mary, so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and Rick.
Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. I cried as I read. Remembering the loss of my golden a little over a year ago. It never gets easier. How is Rick doing?
Oh I am so sorry for your loss. No matter how long we have them it’s never enough time. Prayers for your heart to find smiles at her memory.
So very sorry to hear this. My dogs are apart of the family also. She had the Best life on the farm with you.
Mary, I am so sorry about Telly. I am crying tears for you for your loss. I lost one of my dogs on Good Friday which was not all that long ago. I still look for her, and want to rub on her furry head😢😢. Know that you gave Telly her best life on the farm. And, no, it is NEVER long enough even though we love them fiercely. I have rescued another dog about 3 weeks ago, but it’s just not the same. I haven’t bonded with her yet as I did with my Sadie. Wishing you much comfort in your memories as you transition to your life without Telly, and know she will be waiting for you across The Rainbow Bridge❤️❤️🙏. Hugs and much love.
Rosie – please introduce us to your new friend!
So very sorry 😞 They become one of the family, not just pets.
Mary – I’m so sorry to hear that your sweet Telly has passed. It is so hard to lose our pet companions. We have one entering her last days. So far she doesn’t seem to be in pain so for now we will just watch and love her a little more.
My heart breaks for you and Rick. Blessed are the dogs who have known the love like you gave your sweet pup…♥️
My deepest condolences. I hope the many loving memories of Telly will help heal your hearts
I’m sorry for your terrible loss.
I’m sure glad you opened your gate and arms to welcome Telly into your home and heart. Such a beautiful dog – I know you will miss her so much.
I am so sorry for your loss. You gave Telly the best life ever. It always leaves a hole in your heart to lose a fur baby.
Oh, Mary…Telly was such a wonderful dog. I think all of us readers loved her too, and we will miss seeing her on your blog. God bless you, Rick and Hazel and may he help you with your loss of Telly.
Oh Mary, I’ve lived through this too. It’s so incredibly hard to lose a beloved pet. She was a beautiful girl, and loved you unconditionally too. You gave her a great life. I believe you did the right thing even though it hurts so much right now. Keep the good memories close. Hugs to you and Rick! 💔
Mary, I am so sorry. Telly lived the best life with you and Rick.
Mary Mary Mary! I am so sad for you. These people that we love leave such pain in our hearts when they go. I have to face this soon and I cannot even bear to think on it. Poor little hazel will look everywhere for her friend. Hard days. ♥️
I am so sorry for your loss. Our pets are family and take a bit of our hearts with them. You were blessed to have such a special dog.
Tears in my eyes. I hate losing pets but try to remember we give them the happiest lives possible . Letting them go is so hard, even when you know it’s the kindest thing.
So sorry, Mary. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of her. May the many memories bring you comfort.
It is with tears in my eyes i write this note of sympathy. I can’t express my sadness hearing this news. My heart goes out to your family. BUT what a life they had. Freedom to roam and explore and love when they were with you. Please accept my sincere condolences.
🥺😢
Bailey and I are sending our deepest condolences to you and Rick. I loved reading about Telly and the other furry friends who live with you on the farm. I hope all of the fond memories you have of Telly will help in comforting you during this sad time. Hugs!
Oh so, so sad. I’m sitting here crying, Mary. Along with many others, I am sure. Telly was such a dear friend and companion to Rick and to you. I’m sure Hazel will miss her. Hugs to you and Rick – give Hazel lots of love in the coming weeks. Jan in MA

Call Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how painful it must be for you. Know that you and Rick were the best parents ever. And that you will meet again over the rainbow bridge.
Oh, Mary. We all are shedding a tear for you today. You lost a friend and Hazel lost her buddy.
I’m so very sorry. 😪😢.
It takes a while to share such sad news, but thank you for trusting us. Keep her collar close.
Mary,
I’m so sorry about Telly. What a wonderful companion he has been to you & Rick. It’s never easy. 🥹
So very sorry!!
So very sorry for your loss.
Crying.
Oh Mary, I am so sorry about Telly. What a sweet and constant friend she was. So sorry she and you had to go through that. The pain of losing them is so hard, but the richness they bring to life is the reward. Glad you have lots of good memories.
I’m so sorry for your loss!! I lost my 16 year old Lucy about 3 weeks ago. I still check the couch and expect to see her there. I love the pictures of Telly. Hugs,
I am so sorry that you have lost Telly….Telly was such a great dog and friend….I believe that we will see our little ones again…How can heaven be heaven without dogs!!!
Pamela – no, this was our regular vet but Telly got nauseous after the sedation. I had to cut the carpet out where she was laying – which will be a constant reminder every time I go in the shop.
So sorry for your loss! Thank you for sharing the pictures of Telly.
Aww Mary so very sorry. Such heartache. Be comforted to know that Telly is at the Rainbow Bridge now where there is no pain or anxiety.
Oh Mary, I’m so sorry. I hope that soon your heartbreak will be eased with sweet memories of Telly’s wonderful time with you, Rick, and her furry family. She was blessed to be so loved!
Mary and Rick so sorry for you both. It’s really so hard to lose our pets.
You let her live her best life.
Our pets are in our hearts forever. So hard to not have them by our side. Love and hugs to you and Rick Hazel must feel the loss too.
My heart goes out to you and Rick. Telly was a beautiful and sweet dog.
What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful friend! Telly will be remembered with love.
She was beautiful inside and out. I know your pain. Sending prayers. She was lucky to have you and Rick.
Oh, Mary. I so feel your pain. We had to put down our “mostly beagle” pup, Lady, on May 16th. She would have been 15 on June 1. We’ve known for over a month that she was in end-stage heart disease, but she was doing well. But, on the 16th, she couldn’t breath and was in distress. I had to gather everyone (our son and his wife, our daughter and my husband and I) and got her to the vet to put her down. She was technically our daughter’s dog and she was 9 years old when we got her from a couple who had rescued her from a ditch on the side of the road. Our daughter is 24 now. This has been so hard for all of us. Our daughter had tears again just this morning.
You and Rick gave Telly a wonderful life and so much love. I firmly believe our pets go to heaven and will be there waiting for us. Just imagine the reunion!!!!
Susan – the reunion of all our dogs will be unbelievable and I wonder if Faye didn’t come running to greet her best friend when Telly arrived in Heaven. I hope so.
I like that image. Faye must be very happy to have her Telly back.
Hanks mom – I like it, too, and I have a couple of Telly and Faye pictures that I’ll post.
Mary, I’m so sorry for your loss of Telly. I’ll miss seeing her in your pictures. She has been present since I have followed you. Our pets are more than just a pet, they become family members. I’m shedding a few tears myself. My sympathy to you and Rick.
God Bless your kind heart. Telly had a most wonderful life!
I an so very sorry. These losses are hard to bear.
So sorry for your loss. So true – no matter how long we have them, it’s never long enough. And if we all could live like our dogs, unconditional love and big smiles to greet one another.
Oh Mary, so sad. And harder still when a peaceful end is what we want snd don’t get.
What a wonderful life she had with you on the farm.
So terribly sorry about Telly! She had a marvelous life with you by all the pictures you’ve shared and the stories! As hard as it is to lose them it”s even harder to imagine life without animal companions. As they say, beauty is meant to be shared and the beauty of life shared is the most profound gift.
Happy Birthday in Heaven Sweet Baby
I’m sorry about Telly’s passing. I know how much it hurts to lose a dog.
Sending hugs. It’s so sad. Now maybe she can jump fences again over the rainbow in heaven. A faithful companion she was. So sorry.

I know you are hurting so much. I’m so sorry.
Oh Mary! I’m so sorry. That’s a big loss…for all of you. How is Hazel doing? Take care!
Jill – Hazel lived her entire life with Telly and she misses her as much if not more than we do. She’s just sort of lost.
My heart always breaks for the furry members who have lost their buddy. They don’t really understand what’s happened. We had that situation with two of our beagles one time..I get it. Sending hugs!
Jill – we did make sure Hazel and Keeper were with us when Telly died and we let them smell her afterwards. I wanted them to understand Telly was gone. Hank came and visited today so Keeper was thrilled and Hazel is too much of a diva to mourn too long.
Such a sweet face! They give us the best and we give it back to them. Our dog parent philosophy has always been to never let them suffer. They somehow let us know when it’s time. May happy memories fill your hearts with love! 🐾🖤🐾
Sharon – that’s my philosophy as well and I wonder if I waited too long. She’d have those moments when she’d want to follow along with the golf cart and she was always interested in eating but I knew the time was coming.
So sorry Mary about Telly.
They have a special place in our lives.
Telly had special people too. You and Rick.

I’m so sorry to hear about Telly. I remember seeing her when we visited the quilt shop. She looks like my golden retriever Cooper. Prayers of comfort to you ❤️
Thank you for sharing Telly’s life through quilts and the farm and friends! This was beautiful. Take care, now.
So sorry Mary & Rick. 😪🐾❤️
Oh Mary… so sorry to hear that you had to say goodbye to Telly. Your picture tribute is just wonderful. Telly won the lottery the day you gave in to Armando… RIP peace sweet Telly…. I know the hole in your heart (and Rick’s) is filling with sweet sweet memories, but it hurts until all the memories get settled…. sending you a hug!
Oh boy, tears and heartache. This certainly brought the tears even though I only knew Telly through pictures and description. My heart goes out to you. It’s never easy. I’m so sorry. You keep expecting them to be there. Telly was beautiful. 🙁❤️

Beautiful Telly! Thank you for sharing her story. I’m so sorry for your heartbreak.
So sorry to hear Telly passed over the rainbow bridge. Hugs to you for giving a good home.
This is so sad, I so know how you feel. You gave her a wonderful life , just know you’ll see her again and you’ll take up where you parted. New life, new beginnings!❤️
😢 🐾 🐾❤️
So sorry Mary. It’s hard to lose a beloved pet.
God bless.
Oh Mary. I’m so very sorry. This just makes me cry. I feel as though I’ve lost a friend, too.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Mary, I’m crying for you and Rick as I dreaded this day too. She is like my Caycee so I know your pain of wishing they’d go in their sleep. I still get tears every day missing my cat in all his spots he’d be so I can’t imagine your days too. My heart hurts like yours.
So very sorry to hear about sweet Telly’s passing. Losing a member of the family is never easy. I’m positive Telly loved every minute of being on the farm and living with and loving on you and Rick. Thank you for sharing a great life with her ❤️.
Oh, Mary!! I’m so sad to see this. I lost my dog on April13th after 15 years. I miss her so much and am still trying to life without her! Telly lived her best life with you in the farm. Losing our pets is the worst! Hugs to you as you find your new normal. ❤️❤️
Debbie – do you have another dog? If so, how is that dog doing? Hazel is so sad. I’m sorry for your loss as well – why don’t you send me a picture of your dog?
God Bless Tilly. 🐕🐾🐕🐾🐕🐾🐕
I do not have another dog. Originally, I had a Westie, and adopted Bella, the dog I just lost, to keep my Westie company. I remember Bella being sad when I lost my Westie. I believe they grieve just like we do. It took a bit, but in the end, we both adjusted. We helped each other through the loss. I will email a picture of my sweet Bella to you. Thanks! Just know you aren’t alone and that you have a great support team! Hugs, Mary!!
So sorry. Sending thoughts and prayers.
I am, as all your readers are, very sad to hear about Telly. Just know she has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is loping around with old friends and will be making new best friends!
Mary, So sorry. Telly had a good, happy life with you and Rick. I feel your heartbreak.
SO very sorry that your time with Telly has come to an end… it’s always hard and you have all my sympathy!
I am so sorry Mary. May sweet memories of Telly bring you and Rick comfort.
So, so sorry to hear about Telly. It’s so hard to lose our furry family members. Sending prayers.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Telly. I have two senior cats and I know that the day will come then they will no longer be here but it doesn’t make it any easier when it happens.
Oh, Mary. Heartbreak is right there, from the beginning, and yet we persist, don’t we? And our lives wouldn’t be the same without them–we wouldn’t be the same without them, if we lived safe, careful lives, sheltered from potential heartbreak. I’m so sorry for how much you are missing dear Telly, and I am so glad for how much happiness you and Telly brought each other.
