Thank you, 5-30-24

Your condolences mean everything to me – thank you! There have been 231 comments on my Telly post! I do feel like you knew Telly through the years although she was such a gentle soul she never wanted to be the star – that’s Hazel’s job! Haha!

Several of you mentioned Faye – I can hardly believe you even remember her but here’s one of my favorite pictures of Telly and Faye, who died May 18, 2016. My mind’s eye sees Faye waiting and running to greet Telly at the bridge – welcoming her best friend!

Sweet Faye with her buddy.

Here’s Becky’s favorite picture of Telly:

So sorry about losing your “puppy “ Mary😞. I have lost four furry pets. I am sitting in my dark house with no power since Tuesday at 6 am when the storm hit north Dallas. I had to throw out frozen and spoiled food yesterday. I am thanking God it wasn’t worse!

Liz – oh, how awful! Are you hot? What do you do all day without power? Do you go to bed as soon as it gets dark? I also have a reader/friend in Hill Country who is also without power. I feel sorry for you guys!!!

Hi Mary, more wonderful quilts today, love the 2 fluffy cats on the smoothing iron (.? Is that its name? ) quilt and the gardens. No school today, long weekend for King Charles birthday,it is actually November, but they use June for the good weather. So Stella, Luna and I had a tea party using my good tea set, Bella got lucky and ate Lunas biscuit! Tomorrow is the big day, flying with my brother to Brisbane, all packed and ready to go! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy

One of the very hardest days of my life was the day we took my best friend and constant companion of 16 years, Katie, to the vet to be euthanized. It was the only time I’ve ever seen my husband sobbing. So I understand and empathize with your loss. I know you are thankful for the years you had with Telly. I love your word picture of her meeting her friend!!

Sorry to hear Telly passed over the rainbow bridge. It is hard to lose a pet when they are so much part of the family.
Finished planting my garden today. Just in time for more rain tomorrow.
Thanks for all the nice pictures. Good ideas for decorating and quilts.

I found your blog right before you lost Faye. I’ll never forget the picture of you sitting on the floor hugging and comforting Faye. I still tear up when I think of what you were going through, the picture said it all.. I knew this was the blog I was wanting to read every day. Again, all my sympathy to you, Rick, and Hazel.

So sorry about your Telly. Our furbabies mean so much to us! I will always believe there is a dog heaven where we will see them again. After all dog is God spelled backward.

Mary, as you know better than most, losing a pet is so difficult. They find a way of weaving themselves into our hearts. Telly was always fun to see. Thank you for sharing your animals with us as they always brighten my day.

all the photos today are fabulous. the home dec ones give me ideas of different ways to display. the outdoor flowers and landscapes sometimes make me wish i had a green thumb. however, i admit that my thumb is black. i’ll use my quilts to play with color. the autumn potato chip quilt was inspired by a you-tube of lea louise. i stopped at about 33″ square because i think it will make a great accent for the sofa or a table topper. the baby quilt is a product of a found box of cut-out pieces for miss rosie’s just scraps quilt – rosie’s calico cupboard. i don’t even remember how long ago this was done. probably cut for a retreat and never done. i think it will finish with a red binding and will be great for a baby. it’s how i spent my 3 day weekend. today i hope to start finding backs. had made a kennel quilt and prepped four others for a friend but want to pull more fabrics for her to make more. i didn’t enjoy turning them and finishing. i would rather bind. hoping everyone has a great sewing time. patti in florida

I’m just getting to my computer after a few days off. I am so sorry, Mary, to learn that you lost Telly. Such a sweet dog. I remember Faye as well. You speak so lovingly about all your animals. Makes me feel like I know them too.

I started shopping in person at Country Threads in the mid 90’s. Subscribed to the Goat Gazette until it was no longer published. And now follow your blog. Everyone seems like an extended family. I love all the photos of kids, pets, plants, quilts. Very heart warming.

Please accept my sympathy for your loss, Mary.

Mary, It was sad to hear that Telly had crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but know there were many waiting to greet her. Losing one of our four footed family members is so very hard. Take care and may the rest of your gang bring you comfort. ❤️🐶❤️

    Dearest Mary,
I am so sorry for your loss of Telly! Often our pets are the what get us up
and going every day, I know ours is. Our Tori is a13year old lab, surely her time
will be up sooner rather than later, some days are better than others for her but,
it’s so hard to make that final decision for all of us.
Your blog is so entertaining, have followed it forever! I look forward to it daily,
but, seldom reply, for that I am sorry too.
    With a heavy heart,
    Kathryn, in northern Minnesota

The rock flowers are so cute. What a great idea. As always the pictures are great to look at. I have to take pictures of two quilts and the I will send them to you. I’ve been a little lazy lately. This past week has brought a lot of rain and I find it difficult to get motivated.

Mary I am so sorry to hear about Telly. It is always so hard when you lose a “best friend”. Someone that is always there through thick and thin as I know Telly was for you and Rick. As I read some of yesterday’s comments I was in tears remembering all of our animals who have passed over the rainbow bridge.

My sympathies to you and Rick. I know Telly will be deeply missed.
