This trumps the paper quilted into the back!

I just went to my sewing machine to spiral quilt this string star and was met with a “situation” – cat throw-up on the quilt! Please tell me I’m not the only one who deals with messes like this!

Around here, it’s DAILY. You are NOT alone. Happy to commisserate with you.

Couldn’t you just scream some of these days! I’m sure you have a ready “cure” for the situation and once it’s dry, you’ll be able to sit and stitch. Is this a CSI quilt with DNA evidence?

I have always wondered why it is, every time, that it happens on something that really matters? I just had this situation on a brand new pair of shoes. I did not even get the chance to wear them. Its a good thing that I love my kitties so much! 🙂

No, you are not the only one! Now we even have a dog for me to deal with!

LOL! And of course the cat couldn’t get it all on the yellow fabric! My cat picked the inside of my husband’s shoe to leave a treasure 🙂

I’m so sorry, but I have to tell you that my husband and I laughed so hard when we read this!! We always wondered the same thing about our darned cat … Does this happen to anyone else? Now we know.

Mary, Your star is beautiful! At least it sort of matches. Happens to us all.

Hi Mary you haven’t got that situation on your own. I had laid my king size bargello quilt top out to admire before sending it away to the quilter and the dog admired it also and promptly threw up all over it. The joys of owning animals and quilting! I laugh now but didn’t at the time. Cheers Colleen, NZ

It’s a cats job to barf on important things. It wouldn’t be worth it to do some place that didn’t matter.

Went to take a nap with the “practice” granddaughter and found a nice “present” like this one on the quilt. At least found it before we laid on it. :-/

5 cats and a golden retriever, of course they take turns doing something naughty!

Lovely present your cat left you. It’s either telling you it doesn’t approve of the pattern OR it thought the puke would blend in with your fabric choices.

    Either Way…..Oh My Gosh!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Well, not as messy but the other day I was handquilting and after awhile, found the raw edges of my backing were quilted to the underside of the quilt body!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Duhhhhh!

Today I cleaned up FOUR MESSY POOPS, FROM the floor.
It helps to know that I am in good company!

You are NOT alone! We have one 5′ x 8′ rug in our house, and the cats RUN to get on the rug when they have to hack. We even bought the rug because it’s the color of cat barf, and it’s washable.

I can even tell which of the three cats threw up which barf, just by looking at it.

We used to have a cat who slept behind my husband’s knees, and often threw up in the middle of the night. We got so tuned in to it, we would wake up and cup our hands to catch it rather than have to get up to wash the bedding.

A cat who vomits a lot may have a serious problem, so if your kitty does this often, check with your vet.

Well, Mary, didn’t you just tell us yesterday that you found the ‘remains’ of a little bird in the house? No doubt this kitty got it’s fill and then some. Yucky!!

Laid my newly made Lady Liberty quilt top on the floor to get measurements for the backing. The dog immediately walked over to it, lifted his leg and peed all over the bottom right corner while I watched in horror! GAK!!! Had to gently wash out the section and air dry. Got the backing on, machine quilted and bound. THEN I could wash the quilt. Little rat dog! He was either telling me I spent too much time with this thing and not enough time with him or else he was marking it as his own. Sigh.

Ahhh. You are definitely not alone. We called one of ours “the vomit queen”. I could wake up, put her on the hardwood, clean it up, go back to sleep! Lol

  20. Linda Lutz

Too funny! But I don’t know how many times I’ve awakened in the night to the sound of one of the dogs vomiting! I’m in motion before I know it and holding my hands under her face!!

I had a friend whose cat will eat the batting ever time she try nearing finish her quilt. Yuck.
