The snow is beautiful, but it gives me the chills just looking at it. It’s good the dogs like it. My mom and dad once had a dog that they had to clear a patch in the grass so she could potty. She wasn’t going to get in that cold stuff!!
I think everyone is looking forward to spring!!

We have had awful winds. Blew downspout extension off the house.
Mary, I was going to comment on your longarm problems posted, but either my iPad or yours wouldn’t let me. It looks like something came unthreatened. Looping on the back, trouble on the top. Check your thread path. It should be very easy to pull out.
The snow storms are beautiful if you can stay home. Travel in them are scary. Dogs love to play in them.

Loved the pictures. We just had a dusting of snow here in NE Indiana. I’m done with winter. But I’m sure we will still have some lingering winter days. Stay warm. I feel sorry for the jeep stuck in the snow. Sigh….

I’m always thankful when it snows in March. I know it won’t last. The wind blew hard in the night here. Just a dusting of snow on the roofs this morning. Grateful it was short-lived.I
You have a beautiful scene outside your windows. I’d hate to be stranded in a Jeep. My most scary thoughts. Glad I’m retired and can just stay inside if it snows.
I do love to watch my dog romp in the snow, like he can’t get enough. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Sherri Huff
Holy Moly! So glad you are safe and warm inside!!! Why is it that dogs love to play in whatever weather is happing outside? Hahahahaha🥴
Looking at your photos reminds me why I live in California…🌞 it might be chilly here but not blizzard conditions.
Thanks for sharing your chilly shots, sending warm thoughts your way.

It’s that time of year when Mother Nature can’t seem to decide if it should be spring or winter! We had temps over 60 degrees yesterday, then that front came through with lots of wind gusts and it dropped to below freezing. We don’t have the snow you do, just patches in the grass but I love your photos – the way the snow sticks to outdoor items makes for interesting images.
My power went out in all of this – probably a tree or limbs on the lines – for eight hours yesterday. Fortunately I have gas logs in the fireplace and lots of flashlights and lanterns – but the water pump doesn’t work without electricity of course! I always have drinking water on hand just in case. I ordered a whole-house generator a couple of months ago and it’s set in place here, but not yet connected; have to wait for someone to connect the gas lines. Oh well, making progress albeit slowly… and we rural folks are used to these things.
Stay warm!!!

Mary,
Very windy here this morning. Biscuit and I nearly blown over on our walk earlier. I could hear the wind several times in the night also.
Sharon, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your nephew. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss.
Plan to do a little tidying up in the house then sew, have a nice day everyone! 🌻

Wow Mary, you all have a lot of snow! It is pretty, but that much snow makes it difficult to get to the barn & obviously traveling came to a halt! That looks like a Jeep that’s stranded by your driveway! In SW Ohio we had really high winds but only a dusting of snow. Things are calm this morning. Another sewing day for me. I don’t think we’ve heard from Patti in FL recently. I hope she’s doing better on her meds & I believe Patti’s sister was coming for a visit. Hoping for an update soon. Sharon, so sorry for your recent losses. It’s so hard losing even one family member, but that many is very hard to comprehend. Prayers to you for comfort. Hope all the snow melts soon & we can all enjoy Spring & warmer weather!

Mary, it does look beautiful. Glad your power came back on…… you are so correct when you say how “dependent” we are on power! I become keenly aware when I loose power for days after a hurricane. I always look at those days as good sewing days! Stay warm and cozy, spring is around the corner – maybe nature know the groundhog saw his shadow…… 😂.

Lynette – I’d love to have those “no power” days be sewing days but I need power to do that. A day of hand sewing doesn’t sound fun to me

Absolutely stunning photos! The dogs sure look like they had fun. I’m a cold/snow girl through and through but our winters here have changed so much – we don’t get the snow like we used to! I remember when I was young my Mom would talk about how the weather has changed – I’m sure each generation does – but things are really different here in my area than 15 yrs ago. I miss it being cold and snowy starting in Dec and lasting until March – now it’s so back and forth – I’m not a fan 😂

Mary thanks for all the snowy pictures. Looks so serene but this too shall pass. Tuesday got my new washer and dryer and caught up on wash over two days, I did wash all the heavy rugs in the old washer so they are clean. Been working on a panel to hang outside and need to piece the backing. Using bits and pieces to make the back. Not much happening here and that’s okay. Need quiet time too.

Mary – What a snowstorm! The dogs look like they’re loving it! Great photos. Snow makes everything picturesque. Stay warm!
I lost another family member today – my 58 year old nephew. He had been sick for a while. His heart gave out. That’s 4 family members and one friend I’ve lost in the last 9 months. Unbelievable! My life as I knew it will never be the same. The grief, sorrow, and loss is unimaginable for my sister and her family.
Take care everyone and hug your loved ones every chance you get! Hug like you mean it!

So sorry for your loss. I lost my niece (Amy) a few years ago to a brain tumor-she was only 49 years old. Seven months later, my mom passed away-my sister said it was from a broken heart due to losing Amy. It’s very hard to lose the ones you love. Remembering the good things about their life is what brings me peace. Sending my deepest sympathies.

Wow that was a storm. As others said it sure looks pretty when you are on a warm home inside. Not so much fun when you have to shovel. Stay safe and warm.

Everything looks so nice covered in snow, but I know the cleanup is the pits. We had 4 inches of wet heavy stuff here and the wind blew like crazy. The plow came by and pushed lots of hard icy stuff into the end of our driveway. We went out about 6 to clean it all up, then did our son and our daughter’s house. Who needs a gym membership when you can shovel wet heavy snow, lol Our schools closed early today so they could get everyone home safely.
Jan Smith
Whoa, what a change! Sorry that the power went out, that’s never fun. Maybe it was a three dog night? Haha
Today it was raining, and snowing simultaneously for a short time. Not sure that I’ve ever seen that before.

I always enjoy pictures after a good snow. Looks so quiet and peaceful-and it is if you stay indoors! We got our predicted 1 inch of snow with 70 mph winds. Sounded like everything on the porch was going to break through the front door. Had to bring everything in before it blew away. Heard a lot of people lost power and a few empty semis were overturned in our state. Luckily we didn’t have any damage. Pretty windy today too.

We’ve had rain, wind, sunshine, dust, warmth, and cool weather just in the past couple of days. Yesterday we were awakened by weather sirens due to the wind. A couple of tornadoes in nearby towns. Thank goodness we didn’t have any damage but some areas are still without power.
Your snow is beautiful. The barn is always so pretty in your pictures.
We’re headed up to Iowa for our first trip since early November. I can’t wait to see the boys again.

Holy smokes that looks cold … but beautiful. A good day to stay inside and quilt! The weather has been nice here in Phoenix., but talk to me in June. 😆 That’s my stay inside and quilt weather.

We had two days of snow in Texas, southwest of Houston. Very unusual for us, and more than enough!

Looks like a winter wonderland! It is beautiful to look at, but I don’t miss living in snow.
The dogs don’t seem to mind it. And I see they have little snow balls on their coat that are always fun to deal with, ha.

Wow! It looks like you got a lot of snow! We are supposed to just get a dusting tonight.

Beautiful pictures of the snow. The dogs really seem to like it. I am guessing that you can’t go anywhere? I am sure you are stocked up with everything you need. Enjoy but maybe it will go away soon!

Mary, thank you so much for sharing the photos ! I asked friends from Estherville to send me pictures. We have been gone from Iowa since Thanksgiving Day, and really missing the snow. I am so happy to see your photos, I think that would be called a mild blizzard. We have sand and dirt blizzards in Yuma!
20 quilt tops for the Community Christmas project in Estherville has passed under my sewing machine needle!

Linda – oh, you missed a douzy of a blizzard! At least it’s not so cold. 22 right now and the dogs are still loving the snow. Thanksgiving Day was a long time ago – I came home from Mayo on Thanksgiving Day. Feels like a lifetime ago.

Boy you sure did get a lot of snow. I hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone in this storms path. Stay safe.
