I feel lucky – I used Flonase last night and this morning and my runny nose and sneezing are both gone!!! So if I were allergic to something I wasn’t aware of, where did that something go? It’s a mystery to me.
I had my first of 6 half hour sessions of radio frequency treatments on my shoulders. Nobody told me this was going to hurt!! It’s like a hammer tap tap tapping away on my very sore shoulder joint. I won’t be looking forward to going again next week – but if it means I can move my shoulders again without pain it will be worth it.
Just finished Frieda McFadden’s newest novel, Dear Debbie. I was profoundly disappointed – story line was just stupid and too unlikely to follow. And she’s one of my favorite authors!!!

Moe is here for a little over a week – here’s her baby picture hanging in my kitchen.

I’m trying to sew tonight and Hazel has other plans.

I dearly love your posts…the beautiful quilts etc & the your delightful pets always put a smile on my face. Thank you so much!!
Cheryl – can you see why I call it the blog about nothing?
Love that pic of my girl Hazel with her stick. The first rule of the Jack Russell is “I will not be ignored”.
Des – no kidding! All day she’s lazy, sleeping in her bed but when she ready to go – LOOK OUT! There’s no ignoring her! When people make comments like yours, I know they are or have been Jack owners. Haha!!
Weird, I was sure I commented on Hazel begging yu to throw the stick and Mortie being so photogenic. I don’t see it in the list of comments. So here it is again.
I sure hope the treatment helps your shoulder!
Hoping for some rain!
P.S. My husband went out for Flonase and we’re fighting allergies-pine pollen, dust as it is sooooo dry here and dust in my house!
Mary, I hope these new treatments for your shoulders will help. You’ll have to leave the spring clean up to others! Mu hubby had a reverse shoulder repair done in Oct and still going to PT. He’s feeling just feisty enough with this new shoulder to think he can paint walls, climb ladders, trim trees etc. but I’m hiring someone this year! So stubborn and has always done all of this but I’m not going through another shoulder repair!!!! Morty looks like she “aged” a few days after her chase up a tree! A fireman would have gotten her out too…we had to call fire department after two hrs of buzzing noise in our garage. We were afraid of a leak? or warning? of some sort- NINE of them came in the BIG red rig (they were gorgeous by the way!!) They checked outlets, wiring, attic…Turned out to be a low battery on our Grandson”s scooter & it had happened to one of their son’s scooter! Talk about feeling stupid! I promised them cookies! THIS STUFF REALLY HAPPENS as you say all the time. How I wish you were my neighbor next door! Be patient with those shoulders-gonna take some time and rest and PT…
Arlene – loved your story about the scooter and the fire dept. you’re right – you can make this stuff up! Ha!
LOL – Hazel with her stick!
Hoping for better days ahead with the treatment, Mary.
So glad you are feeling better. I was down with some kind of virus, cough, stuffy nose. Finally feeling better but it took a month. Don’t know how I caught it since I never go anywhere. I love the quilt that Moe is laying on. I’m working on “fancy four patch” quilt along. Super slow progress but I’ll keep plugging along. Just something to do
Oh, I LOVE that photo of hazel, complete with stick, for stick throwing and retrieving!! She is looking at you so expectantly! “Come on, Mom! Let’s go!”
I sure hope and pray your shoulders have relief from pain quickly, but also that the pain relief lasts.
The picture of the dog beside the young man brushing his teeth reminded me of a time I visited a friend, and she asked if I had any mint gum in my purse. I offered her some, but she declined, saying that her dog loved mint and would find a way to get it out of purses.
I just love that you have guest dogs who visit while their families are away. Much better for them than boarding and so much fun for Keeper and Hazel to have friends visiting. Glad you are feeling better. Surehope the treatments for your shoulders work.
Oh, Mortie and Hazel! Thanks for a morning laugh. I scrolled to look at the photos a few times. Such sweet innocent faces.
Glad you are feeling better Mary! My husband had a short lived cold and coughs occasionally but nothing serious thank goodness.
I know some of your readers are familiar with the program Sleep in Heavenly peace with making pillowcases like I do. This Sunday I am doing the children’s sermon with our pastor and taking my doll bed over as the prop. Our church is collecting new twin bedding for the next 2 months for the bed builds members help with. I’m going to leave the bed in the fellowship hall and have the youth bring their stuffies to sleep in it for the week. I’ll go over to church and take pictures of those left going to choir practice, helping in the food pantry or diaper closet, or sneaking in to ring the bell. I’ll get a picture to send you as I’m putting my bunny Little Quilts on top.
Kathy – I LOVE your program of pillowcases, bedding, diaper closet, food pantry and more!!! I can see it keeps you busy as well. Yes, send a picture.
I love this program. Thanks for telling us about the collection point, I’m going to pass that idea on. Also, my shopping list will include “mattress pad” so I’ll remember to pick one up more often. We are making pillow cases for them at school.
Jo, pillowcases are a wonderful way to teach straight sewing at the school plus serve as a community service project. I need to replenish my novelty prints to make some more but they are so fun to see all stacked up once sewn!
I love the quilt Moe is laying on. Is this one of your patterns?
Sandy – no, this is just a quilt I made – if I wrote it up I can’t remember its name. Readers – anybody remember. It’s really just. 9 patch with blank blocks in between. This was fabric I hoarded for years and finally decided it deserved to be used. What was I saving it for?
Mary, I saved a picture of this quilt from Nov. 2024, so I looked back through the blog archives. The only thing I could find was a post about you binding the quilt and finding a pin that was inside the quilt. I think a few choice words were made about the quilt that day, lol! You commented that you clipped off the pin as close to the head as you could, then left the head inside. It’s still a beautiful quilt, but I really love the colors of the new one you’re making (for the same chair, I think). Have a great day!
Candy – this favorite red fabric was what made this quilt special – and now I remember the dumb pin!!
brushing his teeth with kale == why ?? do i just not get it ???
I think Kale may be the name of the dog?
Sue – nope, Kale is the boy
Brenda – just a boy and his dog who did everything together. Nothing to “get”
What a pretty quilt Mortie is snuggling. I hope to see a photo of it when she lets you finish binding it. 🙂 Glad to know you are feeling better today. These respiratory issues can be hard to figure out.
Those precious furry faces!
Mary, I think Mortie has figured out how to have great color sense just like you – could that quilt pieced for Keeper’s chair be any more flattering to her? Today my miserable cold has moved from deep chest congestion to nose congestion, so I’ll be shopping for Flonase tomorrow thanks to your good experience. High hopes that both of us feel much better fast! In the meantime, slow and steady wins the race.
