Barbara, I got a notice the order is ready to be shipped. On that notice was a space for a cell phone for delivery updates. I put your number in that space. I hope they don’t drive you nuts.
The updates will come from UPS, or Kohls. Order #659118805.
Thanks for doing this and thanks Mary for getting us info for how to help.
Mary – I am getting items ready to send to Barbara and was wondering why name, address and zip code are listed as REQUIRED. I certainly don’t need recognition and, I’m sure others feel the same. Was there another reason to include this information?
Connie, feel free not to send any personal info. I was just going to add stamped Thank You cards to the child’s bundle and encourage them to send them. This is how they learn .
Connie – she wanted to send you a thank you card
Very nice of Barbara to think of that. With postage so expensive, I just didn’t need a thank you card. I do understand her reason and, truly appreciate the gesture. Thanks for the explanation. So glad we are given the opportunity to help in some small way.
I sent stuff from Amazon and it put in the zip as soon as I put in the street and town. Things may have a slight delay but she will get them like you have nothing on your plate and mind?
Angie – thanks for that but still, I’m supposed to be in charge of this blog with all the details! Ugh.
Me, too. The correct zip code popped right up so no worries, Mary.
Do you know where in Columbia these will go?
Duane, everything will be taken up to Ashville. I’m just collecting everything in Columbia because the mail in Asheville is uncertain at present.
barbara, this is an amazing undertaking by you. i applaud you. and mary for letting all her readers know how they can help you help those babies and toddlers to stay warm. i hope you get tons of quilts and can warm all the babies, toddlers, elders and whoever else needs it. the idea of a book and/or toy to go with the quilt is a great idea also. it also helps us quilters feel like we can contribute in a positive way.
it’s been a very quiet weekend over here. the cooler weather did not last, as i expected. at 12:30 am, it is still 70 degrees outside. seems like it was in the mid 80s earlier today. have heard that this winter is predicted to be warmer than usual. helps with the electrical bill but not with the feeling of seasons.
i did make a donation to a local lady who rescues kittens, lots of times they are mother cats who are giving birth. she gets them socialized, shots, etc. and then adopts them out. i had lots of toys and items i had purchased for my cat that he was not interested in, so i gave them to her. she and her kitties were delighted. i am so hoping they are using the giant donut type thing ($$$$) that slinky would barely put his head in. not quilts but it is more stuff out of my house. we all know i can only sew so fast.
i have still been slowly straightening up my sewing area from the furious pace of all those last quilts. i have two quilts that are due in december as our angel challenge. got them out and looked at them – both are sets of blocks – read the directions – wow, we have to add three distinct fabrics to the quilts to help decrease our stash. i will get them pieced, but doubt i’ll be able to get them quilted. i saw a photo on-line and fell down another rabbit hole. i had made a quilt recently that i called ‘rectangle checkers’. i had extra pieces/parts cut 3.5×5.5″. the quilt i saw in the photo used 2.5×4.5″ but i decided to use leftovers. of course, that means i have to cut more. such a simple pattern but the original looked good, so i’m expecting this one to also. already have 12 finished blocks and eight more cut out. aiming for 30 blocks that will finish 5×15. it keeps me occupied. the pattern is 5 strips 3 of one fabric 2 of another. it almost looks like stained glass. it is so frustrating to have all the equipment and not be able to use it. okay, i’ll stop.
bed for me. hugs to all, patti in florida
Patti – the most fun of making a quilt is the planning, dont you think? Sounds like you have that part down pat. Haha!
that’s the absolute best part in my mind. deciding on a pattern or design. pulling the fabrics or deciding to ‘wing it’. then actually piecing it. that makes me happy. i could pull fabric all day long. i could piece scraps together all day long. i’d be a happy camper. thanks. patti in florida
Patti – you and I are on the same page!!!
Whew! Barb’s address popped up automatically when I started populating delivery on my order. So that’s ok. I attempted to correct the phone number incase of delivery issues….no luck .
I think a little Angel will make sure all packages will get to Barbara without out issues.
