Your Sewing Rooms, 8-3-24

More fun ahead!

Another Red!
Hummingbird nest!!!

Linette has had tragedy in her life recently – she herself has been having chemo and 10 days ago she lost her adult son in a car accident. I have asked for her mailing address for cards. After being the recipient of many cards recently I’ll attest to the fact that they are a real boost!! Thank you again – many of you have sent multiple cards!!! Oh my!

My day has been filled with Olympics!

I’m happy to have a dedicated sewing room, and although it’s not huge, I can see what trouble I could get into if I had a big room, lol! I’m enjoying seeing everyone’s creative space, big and small. It’s been almost nothing but Olympics here for 10 days, and another week to go! Whew!

The sewing rooms are amazing, and the quilts are wonderful!
Mary, good luck with your appointment Tuesday. 🥰

Okay everyone, my sewing space is made up of kitchen cabinets from a remodel in 2010. We took the island portion and cut out the sink portion. Then cut down the top to fit the base. I love being able to baste quilts on it even though I have to clean it off first. HaHa!
The quilt that is on the front of the garage is hand painted by me. There is a company that marks off the design and provides all the paint. I have provided the web site. They do classes. Check it out.

more and more rain. hubby is out getting fried chicken for supper.
i forgot to mention the quarter log cabin quilt. it is great.
when i feel the urge to buy fabric, i will online shop to my heart’s content. then i’ll wait a little while and hit the ‘delete’ button. i will have had the pleasure of shopping, but not the bill or having to find room for the fabric. as i was looking at the pictures again, it dawned on me. some people may think our sewing areas are a wreck or need cleaned up. but … i bet we all know where most everything is in our rooms. right?
keep sewing. i didn’t today but hope to tomorrow. olympics today. patti in florida

Can I just say this. Men usually have the whole garage for their hobbies. Cars, woodworking, handyman stuff and don’t let me go about the lawn care parafanalia. Let your women have a sewing room!!
    Just saying!

Hear, hear! I love the way that you are thinking! One of these days, I fully intend to have a sewing room WITH A DOOR. LOL
I cringe when I have to go into the garage, because my husband has a “Flat Surface Problem”. If there’s a flat surface, it’s covered with Stuff.

Mary, extra prayers for you as you deal with medical concerns. Loved seeing you back playing piano for your church this morning!
So fun to see all the sewing rooms! Thanks to everyone for sharing and to Mary for posting.
The Blue Angels just flew over our home. They are performing for the Seafair festival this weekend. The hydroplanes race on the lake and the yachts tie up on booms to watch all the festivities! Beautiful blue sky day for all the fun!i

Just now getting to read this. Love Rita’s space. Also love the room with the blue walls. So much fun to see!! Patti, I’m amazed at what you get done!! Beautiful work, everyone. Even the quilt on Rita’s porch is over the top! Okay, I read the blog for all the inspiration and admiration.
Prayers for Linette. Words can’t express my grief for her.

Took awhile before the blog allowed comments but, finally. Again, the sewing rooms are inspiring and interesting. Just shows how very much alike we all are.

I hope Linette lets you put her address in the blog. From her comment yesterday, she seems like a strong person but, has dealt with so much. Maybe a card sent to her will help in some way.

Hot day in Western New York but a wonderful breeze is present. Sitting on my porch working on a Sock Monkey quilt for my grandson who we will be visiting next month in Oregon. If I get it finished by next weekend, I plan to enter it into our County Fair just for the fun of it. Had to laugh seeing everyone ‘s sewing rooms. I keep showing them to my husband to prove many of us quilters has well stocked and necessary supplies to sustain our quilting addiction .

Yay, I finally see a “leave a reply” capability. So many sewing rooms and so many ways to organize. It is amazing to see all of them. And I will never think badly about my stash again, after seeing some of you who have so much more fabric than I do. I am almost 71 years old and I keep telling myself I need to work through my fabric stash. I drool over fabric on-line, but I don’t buy. Now, I call that true will power!
Mary, hoping for strength and calm for you this week.
